Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how Dopamin (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use our iOS application (“the App”).

1. Information We Collect

Information Stored On-Device

The majority of your data is stored locally on your device and never leaves it. This includes:

• Your daily coin budget and spending history
• App usage data tracked via Apple’s Screen Time API
• Focus session records and journal entries
• Streak data and milestone progress
• Behavioral insights and analytics
• Widget and notification preferences

Information We May Collect

If you choose to contact our support team or subscribe to Dopamin Pro, we may collect:

• Email address — only if you reach out for support
• Purchase data — managed entirely by Apple via in-app purchase; we do not process or store your payment information
• Anonymous analytics — aggregate crash reports and usage statistics to improve the app (no personally identifiable information)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and improve the Dopamin experience
• Generate personalized insights and adaptive budget suggestions
• Diagnose crashes and fix bugs
• Respond to support requests
• Process in-app purchases through Apple

3. Screen Time, FamilyControls & Device Activity

Dopamin uses Apple’s Screen Time APIs to provide its core functionality. This section explains exactly how and why.

Frameworks Used

• FamilyControls— used to request authorization from the individual user to manage their own app usage on their own device. Dopamin does not manage other users’ devices or act as a parental control tool.
• ManagedSettings— used to apply and remove the shield (restriction screen) on apps the user has selected for tracking.
• DeviceActivity— used to monitor app launch events on-device so the shield can appear when a tracked app is opened, and to record activity for the user’s daily receipt and insights.

Why We Need These APIs

Dopamin’s core feature is the shield screen that appears when users open apps they have chosen to track. Without FamilyControls and ManagedSettings, it is not possible to intercept app launches and present an alternative screen on iOS. This functionality is essential to the app’s daily coin budget system.

How We Handle This Data

• All Screen Time data is processed entirely on-deviceby Apple’s operating system. Dopamin never receives, reads, or stores the raw Screen Time data.
• Opaque application tokens provided by FamilyControls are stored locally on the device solely to identify which apps the user has selected for shielding.
• No Screen Time data is ever transmitted to our servers, any third-party server, or any analytics service.
• Screen Time data is never used for advertising, marketing, analytics, data brokering, or any purpose other than providing the shield and activity tracking features directly to the user on their own device.
• Authorization is granted by the individual userfor their own device only. Dopamin does not use the FamilyControls “parent” or “guardian” authorization model.
• Users can revoke Screen Time access at any time through Settings → Screen Time, which immediately removes all shields.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. We may share anonymous, aggregated analytics with service providers who help us improve the app, subject to strict data protection agreements.

5. Data Retention

All on-device data is retained for as long as you use the app. If you delete the app, all local data is permanently removed. Support correspondence is retained for up to 12 months.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request deletion of your data
• Opt out of anonymous analytics
• Export your data from the app

7. Children’s Privacy

Dopamin is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. All on-device data is encrypted using Apple’s native encryption and is protected by your device passcode and biometric authentication.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes through the app or via email.
