Terms of Service

Welcome to Dopamin. By downloading, installing, or using the Dopamin app (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Dopamin, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are using the App on behalf of a minor, you accept these Terms on their behalf.

2. Description of Service

Dopamin is a screen-time awareness app that uses a daily coin budget system to help you build healthier phone habits. The App integrates with Apple’s Screen Time frameworks to provide app shielding functionality.

3. User Accounts

Dopamin does not require account creation. All data is stored locally on your device. If you subscribe to Dopamin Pro, your subscription is managed through your Apple ID and Apple’s in-app purchase system.

4. Subscriptions & Payments

Dopamin Pro

• Dopamin Pro is an optional subscription that unlocks additional features including unlimited focus sessions and brown noise
• Payment is processed through Apple’s App Store. Pricing is displayed in the App prior to purchase
• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• You can manage and cancel your subscription in your device’s Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions
• Refunds are handled by Apple per their refund policy

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Use the App for any purpose that violates applicable laws or regulations
• Attempt to circumvent the app shielding system
• Redistribute, resell, or sublicense the App or any part thereof

6. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the App — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, and software — are owned by Dopamin and are protected by intellectual property laws.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the App’s reliability, accuracy, or availability. Dopamin is a wellness tool and is not intended to diagnose, treat, or cure any medical or psychological condition.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Dopamin shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data or inability to access shielded apps.

9. Screen Time & FamilyControls

The App uses Apple’s FamilyControls, ManagedSettings, and DeviceActivity frameworks to provide app shielding on your device. By granting Screen Time authorization, you permit Dopamin to apply and remove restrictions on apps you have selected, solely on your own device and for your own use. You may revoke this authorization at any time through your device’s Screen Time settings.

10. Third-Party Services

Your use of Screen Time features is also governed by Apple’s terms and conditions. We are not responsible for the availability or functionality of Apple’s frameworks or third-party services.

11. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated through the App. Continued use of the App after changes constitute acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the App if you violate these Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Dopamin operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
